Grass Hogs Lawn Tractor Racing
The Norwood Fall Fair will again host a favourite event, Lawn Tractor Racing, sponsored by Troybilt Canada. This is a Nascar-style race taking place at various Ontario venues throughout the summer.
Here is an excerpt published about a past Norwood race:
"WOW This one will go down as the best season end race to date, the weather, circuit and, oh my goodness, estimates of 5000 spectators taking in the action.
A big hats off to all the regular racers that traveled all season plus all those new racers that gave it a go at Norwood, without your great efforts there is no show, but we have ya hooked now and it sounds like there will be more tractor building this winter.
The Race itself with over 50 tractors registered, eleven Juniors alone (highest # this year) and different drivers on the same tractor the field was so full some of the classes needed to be split up. There was a fair amount of aggressive driving but, oh gee, kinda sorted itself out when your Race Director ran over and held on to the rolled up Black Flag for awhile.
Some of the race tractors were showing the wear and tear of a full season of pounding the turf, yet a few finally got it hooked up for there best finish of the season.
I could go on for ever with how great a race this was, and it looks like we are invited back next year, and we all had some great FUN."
